The Beginning of Hopelight

When my husband and I were in the planning stages of Hopelight Australia, our direction was clear. Our desire was to help, support, and enrich the lives of those in need.

We all know someone that is going through a tough time, struggling with health, or even a disability. My natural instinct is to want to help, often there is no way to do this other than to be a shoulder to lean on or a listening ear. You may never know how much your kindness impacts someone’s life, a smile, a simple gesture, a long hug, or that deep and meaningful chat... these small gestures of kindness could have a profound impact on their lives in a positive way.

Throughout my life, I have always had a deep-seated yearning to want to make a difference. Always searching for more, however, my career paths thus far have not provided this and throughout the last two years and some quite pivotal moments, I started to wonder…

Why am I waiting…what am I hesitating for?

Fear… yep, the moment you decide to take that first step towards your dream, fear is the first to greet you.

Fear of failing, fear of no one buying our products, fear of financial catastrophe, fear of disappointing myself and my family, and the list went on.

So, what would you do?

Well, call me crazy, but I chose to acknowledge the fears, let them go, push past, and keep on moving forward.

Our pesky ego does like to inflict doubt, but now was time to push it aside and take a leap of faith and stand in alignment with what my soul was telling me. Now was the time to trust my intuition and follow where I was being guided. It was time to close the doors on careers that no longer made my heart sing and build a life that aligns with what I believe in.

So why candles? Well who doesn’t like candles right?

In all seriousness, the idea evolved many years ago, when I lit a candle after the passing of my great Aunt. She was an inspirational woman, strong, witty, funny, and had an absolute heart of gold. I was unable to attend her funeral as we lived oceans apart. Yet, by taking the time to light a candle and reflect on our memories I felt connected with her. I was able to find comfort in honouring her memory in my own way. This has become something I have continued to do, not only on the passing of someone but in reflection of those I care for. Sometimes it may be to send them my love and thoughts.

There are many uses for candles including mood lighting, romance, relaxation, and gifts. Importantly, the premise behind why we are making them remains the same.

What happens when you buy any of our Hopelight Australia products? ...

You are not only treating yourself, but you are also helping someone by providing them hope for the future. Every quarter, a percentage of our proceeds are donated to a different individual/charity. These special individuals and charities will be highlighted in our social media and blog posts.

Remember, when you light a Hopelight candle with a specific person or cause in mind, your thoughts and energy are sent to them. Together we can make a difference, together we can provide support and hope to those in need. Together we can ‘light the way’ for hope.

May our products always bring a sense of hope, light & love to your home. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
